M

Let me share little background prior to venturing to “M”.

Historically I have seen the internet as a tool. Much like a telephone, it was a means of conducting business. Matter of fact as the technology developed, I began to feel it was a vehicle for avoidance, seeking to eliminate human contact. Just over a year ago I discovered that cyber space is much more than a tool, it has become a community, matter of fact I believe it have is a new frontier full of wonder and discovery.

Like every sector of creation, this world has a presence of evil. Needless to say, unlike any other time in history, undesired influence can creep into our homes and into lives. I have shared with friends, what I use to sneak down to the river to view, can now be discovered via a click of the mouse. What would Jesus do in an area where darkness was desiring control? He would send the light!

In the latter part of 2006 I first discovered a source of how light could be emitted. It began by watching a Pod Cast from Granger Church. Via this Pod Cast I was introduced to Mark Batterson and Perry Noble. They rocked my world. I saw how Jesus was changing the way the gospel was being shared and the impact it was having on thousands of people. From this entry point, I discovered the world of blogging. I began to read a couple of blogs and found them encouraging, engaging, and enlightening. Thus began, my journey, which launched from 360.yahoo. Initially it was begun as a means of journaling. Several family members and friends began to read my thoughts and so the journey continued.

In another area of my journey, God in His divine providence had introduced me to one of my favorite authors, Erwin McManus. I was and am intrigued with his heart and passion for sharing Jesus in relevant ways to the generations. After a period of time, I discovered his brother Alex, who shared his passion and unique ability to mold methods into ministry. One of the methods Alex developed was a blogging platform voxtropolis, a community that I began to post in.

A couple of months ago a new vehicle was launched from the Spirit of voxtropolis, “M” (http://www.myimn.com/). Now for those who are in the discovery mode, as am I, there are forums in this realm that have been created as social networks. You may have heard of MySpace? Well as mentioned previously, darkness touches every corner of creation, yet Jesus sends the light. We are the light and “M” is beyond a social network. It is a community of people seeking to make a positive change in our world. The members stretch all over the world and have been brought together to seek and share opportunity bring change.

Can I encourage you to check out “M” and more importantly seek to be the light in your corner of His creation.

Blessings as we journey together!
